Everything You NEED to KNOW About Strollers at Walt Disney World!

To stroller, or not to stroller. That is the question.

The question that comes up over and over again when it comes to visiting Walt Disney World with little ones.

If your little one cannot keep up when you are walking, or you would like to have a place for your child to nap while you walk the parks, make sure that you have a stroller plan. There are many different options, and in this post, I will go over them with you.

Bring Your Own Stroller or Rent a Stroller?

My suggestion is to bring your own stroller! Why spend extra money when you have a perfectly good stroller outside in your garage? When we travel we always bring our own. It fits fine in our minivan when we drive (even when we have 7 people along for the ride with a little maneuvering), and if flying most airlines will allow you to bring your stroller along for free. It is so wonderful that I have always been able to bring my stroller along for free considering the fact that I would hate to carry my two-year-old through the busy airport along with my luggage. I NEED my stroller while I am in the airport lest I go crazy!

I Do Not Want to Bring my Own Stroller! Tell me About Rentals!

Hold on. Before I tell you about stroller rentals I want to tell you about a more economical option.

Have you thought about purchasing a stroller? Depending on what you are looking for, you can purchase an inexpensive lightweight stroller for less than what you may pay for a day of stroller rental. You have different options when it comes to purchasing strollers.

The first option for purchasing a stroller is Amazon. Purchase a stroller and have it delivered straight to your room. Keep in mind that Disney charges $5 per Amazon package that is delivered to you. Even with the $5 handling charge, this can be a great option considering the fact that it saves you valuable time running over to the local Wal-Mart to make your umbrella stroller purchase.

However, if after checking out this stroller you think it isn’t the right choice, search for Mickey strollers on Amazon. I bet you will find some of the cutest strollers you ever did see!

Purchasing a Stroller is Not Right For You? Now let’s Talk About Stroller Rentals!

You have two options when it comes to renting a stroller on your Walt Disney World trip. Either you rent a stroller from Disney, or you rent one from another company.

Renting a Stroller From Disney

Renting from Disney may be a great option for many, but it is not my preferred choice. Strollers are available to rent throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks or Disney Springs and they must be returned before leaving for the day. This is not my preferred choice because I prefer to have a stroller with me so I do not have to carry my toddler through the parking lots. Walking through the parking lot carrying a tired toddler is no picnic. At the end of the night, I prefer to leave them in the stroller and let them rest while we find our van.

You should also keep in mind the comfort of the stroller. Disney strollers are hard strollers. You will need to bring some comfy blankets along to make the stroller comfortable for napping. This may be no big deal for some, and a major deal for others. I just want you to keep it in mind when making your decision.

Currently, a single stroller rental through Disney starts at $13 a day, and a double stroller rental starts at $27 a day.

Renting a Stroller From Someone Else

This is a good option for you if you would like to have the stroller with you no matter where you go during your trip, or if you would like a different type of stroller than what Disney offers.

There are many different stroller rental companies, but my favorite company for renting strollers is Orlando for Families. Orlando for Families is one of the lowest priced stroller rental services and they deliver for free, have zero minimums and provide high-quality strollers that are clean and modern. They offer single and double strollers along with Joovy Caboose sit and stand strollers that meet theme park guidelines for size.

I prefer renting a stroller through Orlando For Families over renting one from Disney for many different reasons. One of the reasons is, I am able to use the stroller for my entire trip instead of returning it at the end of each park day. Also, I do not have to wait in line at the theme park every day to pick up and drop-off my stroller. But best of all, these strollers are comfortable! No hard plastic strollers for rent from Orlando For Families.
